. Judy Gould, Psychotherapist

My Approach

I offer relational, client-centred psychotherapy for individuals. Relational therapy provides the opportunity for individuals to repair the experience of problematic relationships through the process of deep listening and empathy. We would work collaboratively to understand your patterns of thoughts and feelings about yourself and the power of your significant relationships to shape the way you experience yourself. This type of therapy can strengthen your sense of self-confidence and improve your sense of well-being.

I am also an advocate of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), created by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, which uses meditation and yoga to reduce anxiety and stress. I have used this form of complementary medicine both in my clinical practice and in my own life.

I have training/experience to assist you with the following concerns:
    • Anxiety, depression
    • Problems encountered in relationships
    • Bereavement, grief
    • Illness, physical trauma, chronic pain
    • Pet loss
    • Crisis of faith, spirituality, the meaning of life
